The Time Travelers Wife

A very good movie. My wife said it was very true to the book. I wish it had more of his trials when he jumped to a new time and when he would help himself at times. Overall good connection between main actors for a good love story. A fan of both. 7.5 out of 10

Harry Potter 6 - Amazing!!

Holy cow! What a great flick. "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" was amazing. It's really a preamble to the final story which will be out Fall of 2010 and Summer of 2011. This is less on action than it is a character piece that truly sets up the final film(s). The movie of course leaves out much of the book. It would take 3 movies for each book to get it all in. They were able to capture the essence of the book and what mattered to move the film along. The chunk of the drama is the growing love interests of our title characters. This movie really focused on them and less on secondary characters. Go see it now, many times. I give it a 9/10.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

What a fun movie. I have read other readers say to "check your brain at the door before entering". True statement. Its all action, simple plot. Made to entertain those parts of your brain that allow you to forget the world and just have fun. Was it better than the first, no....better? no. Same style, more robots. My complaint would be to have the camera pull back more from the robots and just watch them fight versus having the camera so close and flying all around. It all becomes a blur. I recommend this movie to all. Go to a matinee versus spending money on the night show. You will not get the same effect if you wait to see it on your small home TV, even if you have a 70" tv. Gotta see it in its large splendor. I give it a 7/10.

CD: Prince - Lotusflower

New Prince album!!! It's a 3 disc set that had 2 Prince discs and an album by some girl that wasn't all that. I popped through it and wasn't impressed. His first disc "LotusFlower" is a great rock album. Lots of guitar. Less of a pop feel. The second which was my fav was "Mplsound". I loved this one. It has a great throwback feel to the 80's. I miss his sound from the mid 80's to mid 90's. That ,IMHO, is his best years in music. I truly loved "Sign of the Times", it's his best one. That's why "Mplsound" is so sweet, it has such diversity to each song whereas "Lotusflower" felt similar throughout. Its a great set of cd's for under $12. My ratings; "LotusFlower": 6.5/10 "Mplsound": 8/10

TV: My Own Worst Enemy

Great show. Always been a fan of Christian Slater. I do worry that the premise could wear off to quick. Basically a secret spy has a true split personality. The spy knows about the other but the other knows nothing of the spy side. Well, in the show, he is broken and switches between sides at anytime. He will change in the middle of a mission to the non-spy and it will we a sight for him to get out of trouble. Its a great dynamic that Slater does between the 2 sides. Lets hope the shows gimmick doesn't wear to fast.
